Anyone considering buying a 3D printed pen, there is a spare gum and some Lego bricks that may be of interest in a new DIY 3D printed pen that has been created by Wim Patel. 3D printing and the use of biodegradable 3D printing filaments, and the use of spray adhesive to provide heat to melt the filament, while LEGO has been used to create feed mechanisms.


The Gizmag website explains: “The Lego brick/spray double action stems from the university project and aims to investigate the production of a product from a 3D printing filament, making the final recycling work relatively simple, rather than a multi-material product, which can pose a cyclical challenge. Patel did some initial work using the university's 3D printer, and he was able to combine different stiffnesses into a single physical object."
